JULIA'S BIO

CINEMA JUIA LIROS.jpg

Julia Liros and Ludovica Lirosi are two distinct artistic identities of the same person.
Ludovica Lirosi signs and works as a director and screenwriter, behind the screen.
Julia Liros is her stage name, representing her musical and performative side, in front of the screen and on stage.
A conscious choice to highlight both dimensions of her talent.

Liros – A Talent Without Borders
Multi-award-winning with over 40 international recognitions between prizes and official selections

As Julia Liros, she captivates as a singer, songwriter, and actress, while as Ludovica Lirosi she stands out as a multi-award-winning director and screenwriter. Fluent in four languages, Julia moves effortlessly between music and cinema, leaving a powerful mark in both worlds.

Early Beginnings and Creative Development

Lirosi was born on April 7 in Rome and began her artistic journey in the theatre. Between the ages of 12 and 17, she took part in over 12 theatrical productions in Roman theatres such as Agorà, Elettra, and Parco Tiburtino. At just 17, she wrote, directed, and performed in Le Jeu du Théâtre: Prima del Provino, presented at Teatro Elettra in Rome, demonstrating a unique and visionary artistic perspective from the very start.

At 18, she worked as a radio host at Radio Incontro 105.8, and in 2010, she moved to New York to study at the prestigious New York Film Academy (New York campus), where she directed several short films that further solidified her technical and creative vision. Upon returning to Italy, she continued her studies at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, the most renowned Italian institution in the field of cinema.

LULIFILM and International Success

From Netflix to RAI and Mediaset

In 2016, she founded her independent production and distribution company, LULIFILM, dedicated to producing films, documentaries, TV series, music videos, and short films.

In 2014, she wrote and directed the web series Desesperados, a Spanish-language sitcom selected at numerous international festivals. The following year, she completed the documentary Too Much Stress from My Heart, which addresses the issue of illegal immigration and was filmed between Morocco and Italy.

The documentary premiered at the Rome Film Festival (Alice nella Città – Panorama section), won Best Foreign Film at the American Movie Awards, and aired on Netflix from 2017 to 2019 across all English-speaking countries: the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, Ireland, New Zealand, Canada, and South Africa. It is currently distributed by RAI COM in several European and non-European countries.

Millennials and the Voice of a Generation

In 2024, she wrote, directed, and produced the TV series Millennials, composed of 7 episodes, each 56 minutes long. The series is distributed by Mediterráneo (Mediaset España Group) in Spain, Latin America, and Portugal, and by RAI COM in Italy, France, and other European and non-European territories.

This dramedy explores with depth and irony current topics such as stalking, toxic dynamics, psychological violence, family conflict, the influence of social media, and sexuality.
Julia Liros plays Irene, one of the main characters in an ensemble cast of over 50 actors, giving voice to a complex generation. She also composed the original music for several episodes of the series.

Julia Liros: Charisma, Energy, and a Unique Musical Identity

As a singer and actress, Julia Liros captivates with her magnetic stage presence, explosive energy, and emotional sensitivity that permeates every performance. She has performed on prestigious stages such as RAI 2 and the RDS Summer Festival, singing six original songs she wrote and composed herself.

She has shared the stage with artists such as Bob Sinclar, Achille Lauro, Elodie, and Tommaso Paradiso... Her debut single Me Siento Sola surpassed one million views on YouTube, and she was invited to represent Italy at the Billboard LMS Festival in Seville, alongside international stars like Becky G and Rauw Alejandro.
However, the event was canceled on the same day due to Covid-19 precautions.

An Artist Beyond Labels

Whether through cinematic storytelling or live performance, Julia Liros and Ludovica Lirosi connect deeply with audiences. Their art is a bridge between worlds, cultures, and emotions.

“I strive to tell the truth, both in cinema and in music, with a direct gaze. I love involving the audience in the intimacy of lived experience, as if they were there, breathing beside the characters. I use irony to explore drama, I interpret emotions with honesty, and I try to give a voice to what often goes unheard.”
