Biography: Ludovica Lirosi

Ludovica Lirosi, born on April 7 in Rome, is a director, screenwriter, and television and film producer, winner of more than 80 awards, official selections, and international nominations, including Giffoni Film Festival, Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival, Fade In Awards, Alice nella Città, and others. She graduated in Economics, majoring in Business and Economics, with a final grade of 100/110.

She began her artistic journey at the theatre school “Permis de Conduire,” taking part in more than twelve stage productions in Roman theatres such as Agorà, Elettra, and Parco Tiburtino. At only 17, she wrote, directed, and performed in the play Le jeu du Théâtre: Prima del provino, staged at Teatro Elettra in Rome. At 18, she expanded her experience by working as a radio speaker at Radio Incontro 105.8.

In 2010, she moved to New York to study at the prestigious New York Film Academy, where she directed several short films and strengthened her artistic and technical vision. She then returned to Italy and entered the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia.

In 2014, she produced and directed the Spanish-language web series Desesperados, later continuing with a new season selected by numerous international festivals. In 2015, she wrote, directed, and produced the documentary Too Much Stress from My Heart, addressing the dramatic issue of illegal immigration. Shot between Morocco and Italy, the film premiered at the Rome Film Festival in the Panorama section of Alice nella Città and won Best Foreign Film at the American Movie Awards. It was distributed in Europe by Mediaset and streamed on Netflix USA between 2017 and 2019, reaching audiences in the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa, and Ireland.

In 2016, she founded the production and distribution company LULIFILM. She has produced several titles, including series, documentaries, short films, music videos, and audiovisual projects. Through her company, she has also gained experience in the distribution, sales, and international promotion of audiovisual content, both her own and third-party projects, participating in and operating within major industry markets such as MIPTV, MIPCOM, NATPE Miami, AFM – American Film Market, European Film Market, MIA, and other international markets.

In 2019, she wrote, directed, and starred in a new Spanish-language television sitcom, Desesperados, consisting of 10 episodes of 30 minutes each.

Her most recent project is the TV series Millennials (2026), soon to be released, consisting of 10 episodes and intended for the international television and festival market. The series is distributed by Mediterráneo, part of the Mediaset España group, in Spain, Latin America, Portugal, and other countries, and by Rai Com in Italy, France, and other European and international territories.

Millennials has won more than 40 awards, official selections, and nominations, with further major festivals still pending. The series explores current and complex themes with depth and irony, including stalking, toxic dynamics, psychological violence, family conflicts, the impact of social media, and sexual issues.

Ludovica Lirosi has chosen to distinguish her two artistic identities: behind the camera, she signs her work as Ludovica Lirosi, director, screenwriter, and producer; in front of the camera and in the music world, she presents herself as Julia Liros, actress and singer-songwriter.

Biography: Julia Liros

In recent years, Julia Liros has brought her music to several stages and television contexts, including a live appearance on Rai 2 and the RDS Summer Festival Tour, where she presented six original songs, written and composed by her, across three Italian dates.

She was also selected to represent Italy at the Billboard Latin Music Showcase Festival in Seville, an international event featuring artists from various countries and names such as Becky G and Rauw Alejandro. However, the event was cancelled on the same day, after the arrival of the artists and the beginning of rehearsals, due to Covid-19 restrictions and precautions.

To date, she has released eight singles and is working on a new album, scheduled for September. The project, in English and Italian, moves in an international direction, with sounds combining pop, Latin pop, urban, afro-pop, afro-R&B, and more emotional, nighttime atmospheres.

Alongside her career as a solo artist, Julia writes and composes music for cinema and television. She worked as songwriter and composer on the music for the film Too Much Stress from My Heart, distributed internationally on Netflix USA. In 2023, she composed and produced music for Marco Amenta’s film Anna, especially featured in the opening and closing scenes. The film was released in cinemas and on TV and was presented at the Venice Biennale. It was co-produced by Rai Cinema and distributed by Fandango.

Between 2025 and 2026, she also composed and produced the original music for the Italian series Millennials, in which she also plays a leading role. The series is distributed by Mediterráneo, part of the Mediaset España group, and by Rai Com.

The projects she has taken part in have collectively received more than 80 awards, official selections, and nominations.

As an actress, this year Julia Liros won an award in the United States and an award in Russia as Best Actress, while also receiving international official selections, including in Canada at the International Motion Picture Awards and in Spain at MADFA in Madrid.
